This may seem like a silly question and probably asked before but do you guys treat the inside of your leather say like an ax sheath getting ready to Snoseal one I have and was wondering if I should do the inside too . Thanks Rich

I will sometimes compress the non-skin inside if the sheath with gum tagacanth. I do this before I sew the sheath together. Gum tagacanth acts as a resist, so make sure you have dyed your leather first.

I don't see what it would hurt. I've even heard of folks spraying or wiping down the inside of a sheath with clear poly if they know it's going to be used in harsh/wet conditions. Definitely dye first.

I've done it before with the logic that it'll keep from holding damp leather against the steel when it's humid out.
