So I have just finished my second "Trebuchet". This is what I guess you could call a desk ornament that cuts.

I really enjoyed making the first one and this one was no different!

It has several changes from the first one that may at first seam very subtle, but they are indeed there and can clearly be seen upon closer inspection.

The knife and the base of the stand is Damasteels stainless damascus. The stand is made with bronze and is adjustable in any angle with help of the little customized tool for the torx screws. The spine of the knife is rounded and the "belly" of it has a tapered inlay of bronze.
The bronze pieces have two different finishes for contrast, one is highly polished and the other is a "brushed" 320 grit finish. This also means that as it ages, the patina will show differently on each finish.

It is held onto the stand with a small but strong magnet and by the leather lined hole for the tip of the blade.

Overall length of the knife is about 8" long.

Regards

like I said, you are on the vanguard, my friend.

Another Masterpiece......all I'm missing is the hole in the base for my Torx. ;)

Love all your work and this is no different. You obviously left the box far far behind and I am so glad that you did.

Oh my! That is gorgeous. That is a work of art my friend. Would you mind telling how many hours went into it?

Well that should not be that hard to get done I suppose... I am sorry I never thought of that to begin with! :-)

Thank you! I must confess that I am not entierly sure about the hour spent on it. And I am not sure I want to know...:-)

I use a Nikon D90 with 16-85 lens. Very very simple setup, I use three adjustable "desk lamps" with a thin white cloth covering each of them to reduce glare...

Thank you all again!

A work of art and imagination. I am always pleased to see a Magnu Axelson thread as I know my eyes will be treated to something special. Really cool piece, Magnus!!!

Fantastic!

Always a pleasure seeing the fantastic pieces of sharp art you make!

Kind regards,

Jos
