Them danged tree badgers.

All users. The oldest of the bunch came in yesterday. It's been stabbed into stuff before and some coating chipping going on. No fear of me making it "not new." Whew!

BADGER, BADGER, BADGER!!!!

Greats set of the 3 Badgers bro... and congrats on number 3!
The SHBA is truely an awesome blade design.

So... now that you have all 3... which one do you think will be your fav?

.

I still think I'm partial to the BA3. Mostly b/c a previous owner ground off that butt a la the PD. GREAT idea! I'll have to use the SHBA to see where it falls.

Honestly, I love all 3. They have their place. The BATAC is the longest of them all - huge ricasso area and long handle. The blade length with the SHBA and BATAC are the same. Strangely, because of the .29-.3 nature of the SHBA, they balance at hte same point right behind the front fastener.

the BA3 is a bit smaller in actual blade length, small ricasso area and compact handle. Its' the most blade for the overall size. Not by much versus the SHBA, tho. I think if the rear-talon-hole area was still there it'd be identical size except for blade length.

The strangest part of hte SHBA is the patina on the uncoated spine. It smells like an old worn gun. That not-quite-rust smell. I guess that's what patina smells like in carbon steel. Mmmmmm.

I had all three for a quick sec as well, before BaconSlinger pulled the BATAC from me. While I looked long and hard for #less ABALE, I hafta say I've never held a knife that feels more perfect in my hands than the SHBA. That design was a stroke of Busse genius. The fact that it was a gift makes it that much better.

Congrats on getting yours, Dennis. Good pull.
