I found this book in my house recently and have been out trying to identify trees a few times, Its really an interesting thing to do, now that i have been able to learn about some of the trees I've see around here my bush-crafting and "survival" skills have increased greatly... thumbing through the book i came across some tree i recognized from around the corner, the squirrels are always going nuts (lol no pun intended) over there..i went over there this afternoon to test my hypothesis (which was to see if the tree i thought i knew what it was, matched the one in the book) and guess what it was..Black walnut! a very nice specimen indeed!.. and just the other day my girlfriend ID'd several wild plum trees... I've got like 6 or so new trees that i've got memorized that all have really great and very unique uses which is really awesome.. here are the pics! I would def say this was a positive ID - even the blackish dye can be seen left on my hands from opening the husk...
Feel free to add any pictures of recent plant life edible and non edible alike flora and fauna that you've recently ID'd
