Well just got back from the youth tree rat two day season.....Anybody ever try to keep a six year old quiet long enough for anything in the woods to come around.....We did not harvest anything however we did have a great lad and dad weekend walking though the woods....My little man is quite good as a marksman however we have much work to do on his hunting, stalking and basic shut the hell up and quit talking skills..lol....We did cheat this weekend and left the tent at home. We brought the generator and used the camphouse. We did leave the wheeler at camp except when we filled the deer feeders for my dad and brother before we left. I did scatter some corn in a few gorges that i plan on hog hunting over the next few days.(on vacation).....

Guiding a turkey hunt many years ago, client insisted on his daughter coming along. I put her in a sleeping bag to mask the movement. Worked out well. Learning to sit has it's own rewards, watching the day dawn, seeing everything get comfortable enough to come around. Much easier to learn stalking after learning to be still

Time well spent, and time with Dad he'll never forget. My son is 21, and the best times of my life was spent with him in the U.P. of Michigan hunting Grouse and riding 4 wheelers. Good for the soul.
