This is not the only model ever made -- or ever flown.
But I like the way we see how it was built and how he learned to fly it.

Great video.
Looks like he needs to get Scotty in the engine room to get more power to the thrusters and maybe a bit more elevator and he should be able to get the nose down for a more level flight.

In the original concept, the entire ship wasn't aerodynamic, although of course, it had plenty of power to fly in-atmosphere. The saucer was designed to separate and fly by itself.
