Anyone and everyone,
I am looking for a reproduction of what I believe is a M-1917 trench spike knuckle-duster. I say believe because I have been unable to locate a picture of it to verify that this is indeed what I am looking for. If I am correct, it should look exactly like an M-1918 trench knife knuckle-duster (which looks like a set of brass knuckles with a blade on one end of it), but instead of a blade, has a spike in its place. Has anyone seen a configuration like this (or am I hallucinating), know where I can look at a picture of one on the web, and who might manufacture a reproduction of the same? Thanks.

Mikeosborne,
I've seen pictures of the originals before, you're not hallucinating they were a set of knuckles with a 3 sided triangular spike reminiscent of Civil War era bayonets. You might try the book Allied Fighting Knives and the Men who Made Them Famous or one of the guide books such as Levine's Guide To Knives. Ebay might even have some listed if you did a search for "trench knife". Good Luck.

there were some early models of these knives that had the traingular shaped blade. If I remember correctly the french predominately had this particular configuration (for the most part).

I beleive you have a US trench knife made by LF&C in 1917 and 1918
