Just ordered my first Trestle Pines knife from TSA. How's the fit and finish? Never handled one but the photos look great.

Generally they seem to be pretty good, did you see pictures of the exact one you bought or a stock photo?

It was the exact one. I went with the Curly Brown Maple. The Ash looks awesome as well. It was a tough, they had 3 or 4 that look really nice.

I’ve got a Topper, to be honest it’s only O.K. The blade had side play and was ground like a splitting wedge. I pressed, peened, sanded and buffed the blade play away. Then I took it to the grinder, (twice now actually) to get it to slice. The maple covers and brass bolsters are really purdy and the springs are flush with minimal gaps. The best description I could think of is that it seems like knife that one would put together if you worked there and the boss said go to the spare parts and blemishes bins and make yourself a knife. I mean this in a good way, sort of. S30 clip main, caplifter, beautiful covers, but none of it fits like it was designed to go together like my Beerscout from GEC does. Now that I’ve taken on the project of getting to near where it should have been from factory, I like it.
Also keep in mind that Queen is done now so if something breaks it’ll be on you to find someone to repair it at your own cost.

That is unfortunate, blade play is something that would be a deal breaker for me. It's just such a beautiful knife I couldn't resist.

If I wasn’t confident that I could fix the play, and somewhat confident on the regrind it would have gone back. It is a really nice looking knife, and with the repairs it’s nice in use too. Light but snappy action. And I’m a sucker for caplifters.
