Trevor Burger of Burger Knives made the front page of the local paper yesterday after being 'investigated' by a 1,8 metre shark while spearfishing near his home off the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
Luckily the shark wasnt a fan of Burger meat and took one bite, chewed a bit and then spat him out in disgust.
So Trevor still has his leg, albeit a bit gnawed on, and 58 stitches later was recuperating at home...
The type of shark is undetermined at this time, although the Zambezi (Bull) shark is a likely suspect. Well, a very guilty looking one was spotted in the area shortly afterwards.
Of course, being a tough oke, he claims he'll be back in the water as soon as his leg heals.... but we'll believe when we see it!
Africa - definitely not for sissies!
