Hi, I have two Spyderco's, one PlainEdge and one 50/50 Combo Edge. I'm going to invest in the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker to keep them nice and sharp. Can this sharpener be used to sharpen the serrated blades of other knives? (Like Kershaw or Benchmade for example) Thank you.

I've used my sharpmmaker on my Cold Steel Voyager, a Gerber i serrated myself, and at least one other knife which slips mymind right now.

So short answer, yes.

Plenty of serrations out there looks like Spyderco's serration anyways, so yeah, you can sharpen them using the sharpmaker.

Yup, sure can!

The SharpMaker is even a favorite of the Microtech fans at Microholics.

Let me put it like this....if it has an edge, the chances are VERY good that the Sharpmaker can/will sharpen it. ;)

:D

Okay, gotta throw in a shameless plug here.....Sit down with it during the game and gather together everything that can be sharpened in the house- potato peelers, nail clippers, darts, your wit. Your wife will love you for it.

I thought this would be the case too! So, grabbing the bread knife, which has a sort of wavy edge and a somewhat flexible blade, I went to work on the Sharpmaker. When i got a nice razor edge on it I presented it to my wife who immediately went into a lengthy diatribe about why does a bread knife need to be sharp enough to do open haert surgery and she's probably going to end up cutting her hand off and ..... etc. Sigh! :(

Anyway, a few days later when she was slicing some bread she says to me, "Gee, this knife really cuts through the bread now!"

Typical woman! ;)

I sharpen all my knives with a sharpmaker(203-the old one) and am extremely satisfied with the results.
BTW, did you know that custom knifemaker Bob Terzuola puts his original edge on his knives with a sharpmaker? Now that's an endorsement.

Sounds like Sharpmaker is THE sharpener to use. I'm new to the world knives and I'm glad I started with Spydercos. I think I'm hooked :D :D :D
