I have a knife with 3 edges on a triangular blade. It still has the import sticker on it from India.
I am trying to find out what I have here, assassin's knife from a want a be ninja or something a overachieving oyster shucker would use. I am confounded, the blade is about 41/2" long and 7/16 to 1/2 " wide.

You have what sounds like an Illegal (to carry) dagger in many juridictions. A three sided blade only designed for stabbing.

It is also illegal for use by the signators of the Geneva Convention.

First of I'd ask a mod to move this to Bernard levines knife identification.
I think most 3 sided knives were banned by the geneva convention because they don't leave a clean wound/cut so maby pre ww2 or could be just a old knockoff. I don't think it's a combat knife because of the 41/2" blade. And pics help;)
Hope this helps and welcome to blade forums!

Sorry we posted at the same time

You mean something like this? If so, it is a Phurbu or Phurba, a ritual dagger used by Tibetan Buddhists.

If yours says "India" on it, it is probably a souvenir item.
