I have been to the two Post Offices nearest my home. I have been to the Post Office I pass on the way to and from work. I have been to the Post Office near my parent's house. None of them have any triangle boxes! :grumpy:

It is as though some evil force has collected up all the triangle boxes in the tri-state area for its own nefarious purposes. (nefarious purpose being defined as any non-khukuri shipment or non-cat containment purpose.)

Dan, if I can't find any triangle boxes by the end of the week, I will find some other container in which to ship you the two promised AKs. Almost seems like a sacriledge, though.

I hear ya.
i looked everywhere for a dang triangle box to ship the AKs to Dan in. Had to end up using a box that some pool clarifier came in. the things barely fit in it. Speaking of which, did those Aks get to you safely, Dan?

My post office didn't have them either. I was told that they are available free from the postal service website. Hey... Ask Uncle Bill where he gets them. Perhaps he has the market cornered.

Gentlemen, there's a real simple way to get them: order some khuks from UB. The neat thing about that solution is that it scales very well. Just order as many khuks as you want boxes, times 2 (I don't think he can stuff more that 2 of the 'normal-sized' ones in a box). Just keep on doing this until your bank account implodes.

At least, that's how I got MY supply.

The only problem with your method, Aardvark, is that Uncle's Bomb-Proof tape work (rather, the un-doing of his bomb-proof tape work) often renders the box unsuitable for re-use. It also often leaves my EDC really, really sticky.

That is correct, you can get USPS shipping Items (Boxes, bags, lables...) from their web site and also by calling their 1-888 number.

I just *knew* that I had been saving those for some reason!

Mac, your point is well taken. I have found that cutting on 2 sides of the end, parallel to the long sides of the box, usually leaves the box re-usable. Acetone works well for the stickiness. Or steel wool. Or both.

Better yet is slicing off the end of the box,
then (first removing khuks)
reaching in & pulling it inside out
(like a sock).

Dean? Socks are flexible, cardboard isn't (at least not while useable)...how do you accomplish this???

Nasty, you should feel one of your legs getting longer and longer. He's pullin' it, man.

Hmm. I suspect that part of my problem with preserving the re-usability of triangle boxes, is that when one arrives, I am immediately transformed into a clumsy and avaricious eight-year-old at Christmas, eager to open the "present". My hands are also trembling with too much anticipation to make the precision cuts you guys describe. I think a "zip-lock" box should be developed for Khukuri shipping.

order online at www.usps.com

free of charge, delivered right to your door. How do you guys think I do it?

Jake - yes. got your lil' box. Thanks! been so busy, haven't taken the time to reply to folks. Saved me the trip.
