Here’s something a bit different. I’ve been forging some old fashioned ferrules, coppersmithing, playing around with some more chip carving and here’s what I came up with most recently,… hot off the bench.

OAL - 9 inches.
Blade - 1095 Steel.
Handle - Mesquite with brass escutcheon pins.
Ferrule and end piece - Copper.

Here's the ferrule before I filed the slot for the tang.

really magnificent concept and work. it has a bit of the "look" of some tribal knives from southern China. Miao tribal knives, and others. have you thought of putting it in a wooden sheath? great work, as always..............b
 
That's a really good looking knife, elegant and old fashioned (in a good way). Very nice!
