Hey Guys and Gals,
Just wrapped this one up a couple of days ago, I am starting the sheath this weekend.
1976 Pontiac Leaf Spring.
Forged to shape and stock removal with a file, light buff on the sander, and finished by hand with stones.
The blade is 6-1/8" to the leather, and around a 1/4" thick at the thickest point.
11-1/2" overall.
Hemp wrap with epoxy soak over 10 oz. leather.
Feels pretty darn good in the hand.

That looks great - I presume spring steel is 5160...what did you quench it with? Oil??

Yes sir, 5160, and yes sir, Normalized, Quenched in Oil (my own mix) and Tempered in an oven...makes for a pretty tough knife in my book.

Looks heavy enough to be useful. Love spring steel. Works great.

Its actually pretty light in hand, but it can handle light duty chopping if need be..I tested it on some dried bamboo I had, and it handled it pretty well.
