Kitchen knife or skinner. Overall length 9.5 inches. Blade 5 inches x 1 ½ wide x 3/16th thick. Custom Damascus pattern weld steel ‘tribal pattern’ by Randy at HHH knives. I forged brass and copper into the steel in the heat treat process.

Handle is spaulted Alaska River birch from my homestead, Kantishna River. Natural no dye but stabilized so it is stronger and will not warp. Copper rivets . Steel acid etch is mountain range. Copper brass is sunset.

I enjoy Randy’s steel at HHH. A challenge to get the brass and copper to come out right (taking it through the heat treat). Spending more time learning about wood. Out of the animal parts business, finding a new game. Learning a lot about dying, stabilizing, locating good wood in the wilds that is my home. Experimenting with local diamond willow, spaulted birch and alder. Some is not seen much on the market and think has a good look to it. While looking for wood, getting some fishing in.
