Hi Folks,

Here's a 18.5" 1075 acid etched parang with bovine ivory, lace, and turk's head knot. The scabbard is spalted tamarind with turks head knot wraps. I've never been able to bring myself to make anything without a point, this is as close as I've ever come to a blunted chopper style.:)

There's a load of things I like about your swords, but one thing that always seems to really stand out is the handguard. Do you have a closer photo if it?

I don't at the moment, Sam. Bit I'll be happy to get one up as soon as I can.

Looks like a great chopper. Almost dao-styled, but with that forward cant to the blade. Very
interesting!

Thank ya kindly, yes, it's a really good chopper, but it does have a good, solid, sharp point to it also. I was aiming for a Filipino style blade, but I can't honestly say that's exactly what this blade shape is:)

That is great looking and I would wager highly functional.

And the wood on that sheath is really sweet looking.

Yes, it does the job just fine. I tested it out on gnarled old dry firewood, oak, hickory, maple, and it goes right through the wood with no problems. I love the spalted tamarind too, Greg, it has a golden glow to it that's hard to capture in pictures.
