This is a blade I have been working on for a little while now, and finnaly was able to finish it up on my "vacation'
I did a short WIP on it here in the sword forum http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/905028-Tribal-Short-sword-WIP
There several new things I tried on this one, and I think they all came to together well.
The OAL is 20", with a 14" blade of .214" 5160. The handle is Wenge, with a hemp wrap.
Opinions are welcome!

I think you're right. It all came together very well. I like it a lot. Thanks for the pictures. Mike

that's a good looking swordtypething!

Thank you guys for the kind words, this one was a lot fun designing and seeing come together.
Next on deck is a 14" blade subhilt. :D

it's awesome. I love the lines and blade grind. It all flows well. I don't normally like mosaic pins... but those really seem to fit. I should look at the WIP.. but did you edge quench or clay treat your 5160?? If I had to offer any kind of criticism it would be that I would prefer a more even finish on the blade.. since that hardening line doesn't add to the look in this case. But that is just being an annoying nitpik. Other than that..I think it is my favorite of your work.

Really like it. Elegant yet primal. Sasquatch in a tux? Great proportions.

Scott it is actually through hardened, the line is a second layer of gun blue on the top half.
Thanks for the compliments and critique, it is how we all progress.
