I'd like to try something a little different with this thread, and I'm hoping some of you will be game. Do any of you want to post pics or share anecdotes about the Becker knives that are no longer with us? Maybe it fell out of the boat....maybe it was the victim of an overly enthusiastic grinder...maybe an ex took it, along with your favorite black t-shirt? This thread is for all the Beckers that have gone on to the great woodpile in the sky!

So, my first Becker edc was a semi-serrated 11 with micarta scales and a great mustard patina. I left it one night in the glove box of my old car (had an old diesel Mercedes at the time), and the car was broken into.... The only thing, literally, that was stolen was that 11. Still kicking myself about leaving it in the car! I've since replaced the Mercedes with an old F250, and the 11 with a nice 24, but I do miss the bottle opener....

I thankfully still have all my Beckers. Can't say the same for all my knives.
I know a few here lost some to he who shall not be named :(

I was just looking at pics of blades i have sold. Kinda sucks not having them anymore. I guess thats kinda the same thing.

I was kayaking on a slow, lazy river this Summer. Only about a 2 hr. float. I was floating beside my Dad and Brother. We were having a couple beers and enjoying the fine weather.
We were coming up on a small rapid...I was in the lead and decided it would be fun if we went 3 wide into the rapid. So I paddled over to a shrub on the side of the river right where the rapids were beginning. The plan was to wait there about 20 seconds until they caught up with me. Well...the front of the kayak got sucked under the shrub branches and before I knew it the whole kayak was getting filled with water! I quickly escaped the vessel and tried to hold on to it. My eyes were probably as big as basketballs! I held on to the bottom of the kayak and rode it through the rapids.
Beer came out of the cooler, the oars were floating downstream, my glasses were lost...
When the kayak came to rest on a log, my brother and I flipped it over, I got my bearings, and did a quick inventory.
Wallet and keys...safe in the water proof box. Whew.
BK11 around my neck...check! Whew.
I was missing a sandal, my glasses,and...my beloved Beckerhead hat! Nooooo!
I found my other sandal and retrieved the oars. I even found a few of the beers down river. :D
But my glasses were gone. And my Beckerhead hat...never to be seen again.
It was a sad day indeed, but being able to get out with my Dad and Brother made it all worth while. We'll remember that day for the rest of our lives and laugh about it all.
A Beckerhead hat is a small price to pay for good memories.
I'll miss you Beckerhead hat!...fare thee well...

I had a BK14 stolen out of my Jeep 2 or 3 years ago, along with a pack full of gear.

Years before that though I sold my first BK&T, a BK4, to my buddy after our first tour in Iraq.

i don't recall losing any yet.

yet.

The BK2 was my first Becker. Good knife. Once I the 10, I didn't need the 2 anymore. Gave it to a friend, as she is a knife nut too....and she carries it with her in her bag to all her construction sites. So it's getting lots of love.

What was your address again? :D

I'm thinking fire team rush.

take a left at claymore alley, and a right to minefield pastures, now, gingerly cross c4 bridge 1 and 2, fire moat, and the pools of acid.

at this point, you're probably infected with one of a few dozen plagues, because you overlooked a few pitfalls.

yeah, watch out for the pits. lol fall.

oh hai? still with me? sturdy! now, after all that, you find a little lock box with a key. if you can open it, the key gets you inside.

where there is nothing but a sign that says "wrong house"

please drop any knives/etc into the bin for later collection.

thanks!

I sold off my 2, 9, and 7 to folks here, so whilst I do not have them, I'm happy they found folks who could use them.

I am down to an 11 (in terms of BK) these days.

I'll raise a glass in honor of old friends who've found new theaters of action.

I had a 9. Then it was pilfered by a dear friend. Now I don't have a 9. Of course this all happens before I get informed that you can't not have a 9, so here I am, 9less. It went to a good home though, and has seen a ton of good use I wouldn't have been able to give it, so not a huge loss. Although after this last gathering I have to say, the idea of getting another one has certainly crossed my mind a time or two.

I got rid of my 4, 10LE, 16, and 17. Tweener handles didn't work out for me, and I decided the 4 wouldn't do anything that the 9 couldn't, and got rid of it too. I traded my BK10LE for the 4,and 17. I still have my clipped 2, stock 2, 9, 13, 14, necker proto, and Camillus era 10.

I was sailing in a catamaran sitting in the net about a year and a half ago and this BK14 fell out of my back pocket. Miss it dearly:

My first BK was an 11 I misplaced it for about a month. After week 2 of not having it I ordered a BK14 after that it was all down hill. I pretty much have them all now. Well I still need a Brute but Im working on that.

ATMITime, i have only gotten rid of 1 Becker: my extra, on standby BK9. I sold it to a friend. Knife-nuts don't let friends buy junk. Plus, you simply can't not have a 9. So, i sold him mine. Bought another with the new coating, lazer etch & new sheath. Win-win for all involved. He has a quality chopper. I have the updated one & I still have a 9 on standby----should my modified one with a choil & jimping ever break (which i doubt). Yup, i know, voided the warranty.

Maybe we should organize a Brute purchasing fund for Beckerheads.... Everybody puts $10 into the pot every month, we buy them as they come up for sale on Fleabay, then they get sent to members via a lottery....
