All,

Thank you Sheath makers for the excellent suggestions, recommendations and eye candy that you have shared with we, the aspiring sheath makers ;)...thank you Paul Beebe, for the awesome tutorial.

Here's my first sheath from start to finish, made to compliment the Swamp Rat Rodent 9..this is my tribute to the superior craftsmanship of all Busse kin blades.

Thanks Jerry & team..for making knives that are not just some of the most awesome cutting tools I have owned, but for all of your kindness, to me personally.

Thank you Lord, for helping me do it!!

Here's the pants (and suspenders):

Looks great for a first sheath! Well done! :)

but, whats that on the tip and top of the sheath?

I thought that's what it was, not a bad idea as long as it doesn't adversely affect the leather, I'd love to hear some long tern results on it. :)

Leatherman, agreed..the long term test is the best test :-)...will keep you posted in a few months after it has seen some good woods time in varying climates.
From the little experimenting I've done, seems best for areas without a lot of flex..and adds some good regidity, as well as retention for the blade..which is the coolest part to me as the way the sling works on this, the weight of the handle is the low point when on my back, and between the molding, the strap, and the rubber dip, it's a pretty secure ride.
