Roger, I just want to say THANK-YOU for a fine hunting knife. I promised to send you pictures when I used your knife on a hunt, little did I know it would take me a couple of years to get to display them. I lost one year to chemo and radation for cancer but then this year I was able to connect.

I know these pics have blood in them but as a hunter and a fine knifemaker I know you will look past the gore and take pride in seeing one of your creations in use.

Awesome elk Gary. You've got a great knife from an equally great human being. Best of luck to you.

That last pic is Awesome !! That is what a great piece of steel is meant for !! Great Bull Elkslayer and as always great Blade Roger !!!

Elkslayer, you earned the biggest prize getting past cancer and then you got out get a monster Elk. It's good to be you. I bet Roger is tickled to see that knife looking exactly like that in the picture. I was in North Dakota for 7 years, I miss the open prairies (and the hunting) up there like your pictures show...

Great elk, pictures, and knife! Of course, we all know what a great knife maker and great guy Roger is. You da man, Roger!

That is a tremendous elk, and that is exactly how a great hunting knife is supposed to look! Both you and Roger are blessing to this forum.

Hey Gary, great elk! I got a nice 6x6 as well this fall, about the same size as yours. I took 20 of my knives out to New Mexico and sold 'em all. One of the most gratifying sights was my guide using a knife I had given him three years ago as part of his tip....it was extremely well used, but not abused. You know, most of our knives we make are never used, or if they are, not to any great degree. It really does us knifemakers good to see one of our creations put to work!

Getting a bunch of Christmas orders...got to get to work before church. Take care.

Hank

Congrats on the elk, and on your health........as a maker, Im just happy to see pictures of a customknife actually being used....as opposed to being kept in a drawer:thumbup:

Congrats on kicking cancer, and that elk square in the behind!!

Gary,

I AM SO PLEASED!!! I have been wanting this for you for it seems three seasons so far. You did it Gary and I could not be happier. When you commissioned me for the knife you had told me it was to be used on an up coming elk hunt. Then, shorthly after delivery, you had to inform me of the attack on you. You still, non the less, went out on the hunt. The next year came and went without your elk in the freezer. You did it Gary. Just goes to prove: if you think you're down for the count; tell'em to go to Hell - cause you ain't. I am so proud of that hunt for you. and, I also realize that you posted this on BF Shop Talk for my benefit. That was very thoughtful and I do know why you posted it here.

Now, where do I send the check?:D :D

You da man Gary; stay in touch please.

Roger
