“Thursday, October 31st. The city streets are crowded for the holiday. Even with the rain. Hidden in the chaos is the element, waiting to strike like snakes. And I'm there too. Watching. 2 years of nights have turned me into a nocturnal animal. I must choose my targets carefully. It's a big city. I can't be everywhere. But they don't know where I am. We have a signal now, for when I'm needed. When that light hits the sky, it's not just a call- it's a warning. To them. Fear is a tool. They think I'm hiding in the shadows. But I AM the shadows. I wish I could say I'm making a difference, but I don't know. Murder, robberies, assault- 2 years later, they're all up. And now this. This city's eating itself. Maybe it can't be saved, but i have to try. PUSH MYSELF. These nights all roll together in a rush, Behind the mask. Sometimes in the morning i have to force myself to remember everything that happened.”
Each of you know how different blades can give a different feeling mentally when handled, even if subtle. The Moab, WTF or Hognose war sword for power or brute force, like holding a physical embodiment of “strength” in your hand. The BB13, TGLB, Tali-whacker, or basic series for resourcefulness, aptitude, cleverness maybe. Like when you have the right tool for the right job and know exactly when and how you’ll use it.
I’ve had the Triceratops for a little over a week now and (after some intense highly trained tactical shadow stabbing alone in my home, along with noticing the Batman first scene/release date coincidence, paired with the fact they perfectly fit to form what looks like a Batarang) I’ve found out what this blade feels like but instead of telling you all, here are some of my favorite quotes from the caped crusader himself for all you Bat fans.
“The idea was to be a symbol. Batman could be anybody, that was the point.”
“Death is powerless against you if you leave a legacy of good.”
“All men have limits. They learn what they are and learn not to exceed them. I ignore mine.”
"I think we can take them. Do YOU think we can take them?" - Batman to Superman
“It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.”
And with that, I think this blade gives a sense of duty, resilience, perseverance, and most importantly VENGEANCE... okay maybe not that one.
