tricky

After a while you will probably question yourself about anything related to the new Schrade knives. When Schrade USA closed their doors in 2004, the new owners of Schrade had a range of knives made which really looked like Schrade originals nice looking knives, tang stamps were close and the knive even came in a plastic tube, just like Schrade sold many years ago. Many got caught on those, the knives were actually made by Camillus, which made it a nice knife in itself, but what a catch out.

Whe looking at the new Schrade knives if the mdel number is listed and it has several extra letters at the end, it probably is a new Schrade knife, the original schrade knives Old Timers and Uncle Henry's had relatively short model numbers.

Look out for Schrade Walden knives with a blade etch or in new condition without a pattern stamp on the back of the tang. Doesn't apply to all knives, but most of these are remakes. Lots with fancy tins and the 50th anniversary are new made ones as well. Most of the catalogs are on Larry's collector site.

When in doubt always check Taylor's catalogues too. Great resource for all the things I will never want. Cheers!
