New guy here,

I'm in the market for a new folder but I cant decide what to get. I'm thinking of a large sebbie, Strider AR and I was also looking at Trident folders. This will by my secondary EDC (size is not an issue). I currently own a Strider Sng for EDC (work and play). I'm pretty hard on knives, my sng will tell you that. My main concern is strong lock up. Any help or experience would be appreciated.

From what I have seen the Trident folder looks nice, but overpriced. Last time I saw something on it I think it was like $550 or something.

For that price I'd go the custom route. I think my next high dollar folder will be a Rick Hinderer XM-18.

Looks like the new prices on the Trident folders are, $475.00 for the titanium/G-10 slabbed framelock, and then $675.00 for the all titanium model. As good as the knife looks I just can't come to grips (pun?) with the single thick titanium liner on one side and the G10 slab only, on the other side. Makes the knife look terribly unbalanced to my eye.

Here are some picts:

I really like the design, but can't get over the different handle slab thickness. What's the point of it on the Titanium model?

Christ, those things are monsters, look at the thickness of those liners! They make the Manix or Skirmish look like a pen knife ....

You may want to check the timing on the Hinderer as I believe he's a bit backlogged just now. For the very good reason that he does very good work. :D
