Hallo everyone!

I was browsing around some knive sites and saw the trident knives website (www.tridentknives.com) and was just wondering what makes these knives so special? (looking at their folders) They are made of CPM S30V Stainless Steel with HRC of 59-60, but with a price tag of $ 495,00 is just unbelievable! Truly I would rather go for a custom knife or a strider or even a more top of the range spyderco!

Can anyone tell me what it is about these knives that are pushing up the prices?
I can't figure it out.

Their website explains why: http://www.tridentknives.com/whytrident.htm

They appear to control all aspects of their knife production, from heat treat to CNCing. Plus they also include custom Kydex sheaths.

The cost of the equipment can't be cheap, for semi-production. They don't mass-produce blades that just get shipped to vendors and sit on the shelves.

Their product looks similar to Strider. I don't own one, but I wouldn't be opposed to owning one someday...

Here's mine I'm quite happy with the overall fit&finish. Try the Military Morons website for a review. Cheers

Crusader Forge (previously Trindent Custom Knives) make each knife one at a time, kind of like Randall. I have the Oberland 1, Oberland 3, and the TCFM-2 and all three are built like building destroyers....very, very, tough and well heat treaded so they hold thier edges extremly well and you can get a variety of blade finishes to suit you taste. Maciej (the owner) has to completly accept each knife before it is shipped and they are very nice people to talk to and deal with.
Just like Bob Dozier has become king of the D2 steel, I think that Maciej is at the top of the hill when it comes to CPM S-30V steel. The handles may look kind of funny but it seems that however you choose to hold the knife that there is a nich to fit you hand.
The bulk of his knife useres are in European countries and Polish Special Forces.

maybe this helps some. I love my Tridents.

They are good people to deal with. First rate, from my experience. They also seem to bring out the very best in S30V steel.
