After reading Riley's ' Day out with an old friend ' post this morning I decided that I would head out and try his resin match idea.

Not sure if Riley used Fatwood or not but that is what I decided upon, Fatwood with the end coated in resin and sprinkled with fatwood dust.....mmm fatwood lollypop !

Took me 4 strikes to get it lit.

I then sat back with a cuppa and let it burn.

After a little over 8 minutes it was about to die, not too shabby eh !

Nice One brother...It's insane how long it'll stay lit for isn;'t it? I didn;t used fatwood..Believe it or Not I've only used fatwood 1 time in my life... I think Tonym letme play with his fatwood....wait a minute that didn;t sound right.. anyway.. I used a twig of ironwood some hemlock sap and some hemlock scrapings.. In the future.. I might add some cattail, milkweed dander or goats beard to help it catch faster... Good stuff brother.

John, you can NOT touch Tonys fatwood. Nasty. Nice burn time. Fatwood in all my kits.

What you two do in your personal time, we do not need to hear about :p

Fatwood is some good stuff. Never thought to put extra resin on a piece of fatwood. That sounds like it would work wonders.

It also helps keep ya fatwood dust in one place, I've lit it after sticking it to Duct tape before but this works even better !
