I had been thinking about how to make this knife "pop" a little and came up with this tiger stripe idea.

The knife is 3/16" ATS-34, flat ground with black G10 scales. The whole thing is bead blasted and then I etched on the stripes.

Just something a bit different for me.

Thanks for looking,
SDS

edit to add: Okay, tomorrow I am going to go buy the materials to build a lightbox. My pictures suck.

Well, I built a light box and took some pictures to try it out and side by side I can't tell a lot of difference between the before and after pics. The first picture above is before, the second is with the light box.

Just added a third pic after playing with a photo editor........still doesn't look right to me. My hat's off to you guys that can take good pics.

Svslider, your probably right. The overal design is pretty utilitarian though. the camo stuff was just something new I was trying out. I'm not too into the tacticool stuff. I personally prefer stuff with fewer bells and whistles but if everyone liked the same thing we'd all be carrying the same knife.

I like the camo on it, I bet it wouldn't effect the way this baby would gut, skin & quarter a deer 1 bit! 3/16" Flat Ground ATS-34 with G-10 to me is a recipe to get the work done!! And the camo stripe wouldn't be hard to look at either! Course I don't hang out in malls or with ninja's but I bet it would be the hit of our knife
'show & tell" at safety meetings or before start time or at dinner on the construcruon site! I mean after the meeting of course not instead of the topic:eek:, OK it would be the topic!! I bet 12 would sell in 1/2 hour there & no "Mall Ninja's:jerkit:" would be present!! Looks GREAT SDS & like you said every likes different options on their knife, truck, car, gun etc.

Copperboy, thanks for the kind words. I kind of made this one to be all utility. When I was done I had the idea for the striping. I hadn't planned to do it but when I thought of it, this was the knife I had available to try it out on. I don't think it turned out too bad.

Just finished up the sheath for it and it's on it's way out tomorrow.
