One part of belt I loaded with green compound and other half left just like it is.Stropped few knives and one straight razor.I get way better results like this than with paddle strop from lee walley.....just amazing.......every knife splits hair easily..........can shave no problem..........and my straight razor just shavess like crazy........;) no need for any commercial strops etc!!!

how were the belts setup? loose suspended, glued down ????

the thing about using old belts is to make sure they are leather and not plastic. I once tried on a cheapy belt and just drove myself nuts!

I've been using an old leather belt('70) with good results too. I haven't been getting my knives quite as sharp as bok_zca has thou.

If I use a compound what's the best on to use ? Diamond or green......what type green? I have regular strop too what's the best to use on that?
Where is a good place to buy compound?
