Ever seen a naked Nighthawk? I hadn't.

Scored this at auction. All the rubber overmold was gone and the plastic wasn't in the best shape. Blade is fine and dandy, so not sure what crazy hell she saw.

Smashed the remaining grip to smithereens, now debating what I want to do with it. My go-to is stacked leather and crown stag, but not sure what I want to do for the guard. I have some 1/8" titanium plate to toy with...

Suggestions?

Thanks for that mention. It peaked my interest as to how a stacked leather handle is created. Seems like an interesting process to create and shape it.

My go-to is stacked leather and crown stag, but not sure what I want to do for the guard.

To my way of thinking a guard and pommel is essential if you are going to 'stack' anything.

I’m thinking stacked leather may make the grip pretty fat, what about two slabs of ebony? Whatever you choose I know it will be nicely done.

The tang is definitely wider than the usual for stacked leather. Might just cut and shape a few pieces and see what kind of dimensions I can reasonably achieve.

Guard will be a tough one. I have a thick slab of aluminum, but I'm not a machinist so aluminum is a huge pain in the keister. Did find a small, brass guard that probably came off a cheap junker, so that's a possibility and easier to fit.

I like to try and incorporate traditional materials (ie: wood, leather, bone, antler) with more modern ones (g10, carbon fiber, glow resin), so it's hard to dial in exactly where I want to go.

I like this knife so much, I might get stuck in some analysis paralysis...

I would make a G10 guard/ pommel and micarta slabs. It would mimic the best 192 limited edition I've seen once
