I've heard lots of stuff about cold steel being to "braggy" about products. I also heard that the triple action folder was cool but after you flip it out a few times that the aluminum dents easily. Is this true? It's on sale for 49.00 right now and if it's not too weak i might buy it. Anyone have this knife?

Hi,

Run a search in the knife testing forum, and you will find lots of info. The general feeling was that it would not survive aggressive Balisong style flipping, and the serration pattern was not the best. Where did you see them on sale?

Hope this helps!!!!

Cold Steel Special Projects is having a Christmas sale. I handled a triple action when they first came out. If you don't get the opening right, it's a very sharp blade edge banging against an aluminum handle. I didn't think it would hold up to much usage either.

To add to what's been said above, one of my friends has one that's become pretty sloppy with use. Just what you'd expect with steel pins working against aluminum handles. It still works, however, and it is admittedly an entertaining design.

If I had "extra" money, i.e. not required to pay bills, or buy a real knife, I would probably buy one at that price. It is a neat looking knife, and the steel is pretty good. Just for the collection, and/or dress-up carry. I'm sure that it has it's uses, and I wouldn't turn one down if given to me.

I say get it if it won't set you back too much.
