I admit a silly way to start a discussion:D and I figure it won't get much attention. but this idea is mused mainly by Chris form prepmind101 & jessica. The Warrior and his beautiful blue tiger striped clip point bk2. and 556 Ruder and his very American bk7 eagle w/stripes. and also to you countless souls who post your wonderful mod photos. I was trying to save this one for myself. but stay at home father doesn't pay well. matter of fact my purchase of a bk2 on 5/29, was afforded to me by catching someone dumping tires in our apartment trash. crime don't pay either but snitching did.

after getting my bk2 I was ruminating over polished, patina or blue. I decided with polished like my bk7. what can I say I'm a dirty blond who likes shiny things, that cut mean. but i did give me a great idea during the process of my decision. and since I don't have the ability to do this one myself & drop an awesome bomb on you all. I hope there isn't egg on my face and it hasn't been done before. a triple color finish Becker. blue, black & silver on one knife blade. handles & accessories not included as part of the color palette.

I know this thread may never live beyond this day but its a great idea. and if 556 Ruder & The Warrior would like to drop their inspirational photos then please do. thank you all for reading.

The BK2 is a hell of a nice blade. This is my first BK2. Afterwards, I got another, because in all honesty, I like drop points better. After I did a rendering of it though, I wanted to clip it in reality, so I did.

but this idea is mused mainly by Chris form prepmind101 & jessica.

This amuses me, but mused I am not. LOL

But The Warrior's BK-2 is a very fine specimen of great modding. Not familiar with the other example but I will look it up for sure.

So are you going to do this mod to your blades? If so , Good luck and make sure to post pics. We all love pics.

So, The Skunk hasn't been around long enough to gain legend as some of these awesome blades, but she's the first knife I ever modded more than just a strip/patina/sharpen. Cut out her white liners from an old DVD case, electro-etched the logos and just used the snot out of her. Good luck on your own future legendary knife

Blue, black, and silver you say? You should do it!
Be the first. Be the trend setter.
You'll have the first Claymored Becker!

Myself, I tend to prefer the natural patinas. Everchanging and unique.

spured by crimsonfalcon07. I would expect that from a hobbyist steel grinder:p I think it's a great idea. from a left hemisphere kind of perspective.

well I have Chris to thank for getting me into becker's & refinishing them. The Warrior's beautiful design pushed me into a bk2. now as for 556 Ruder I have seen his bk7 under Google. while image searching for modded beckers. and like a bolt of lightning. a totally original idea hit me. a triple finish blade. I don't have the means to do it. nor will I be a greedy little piggy and keep it all to myself. I want to see if any of you are inspired by it. I dont need inspiration because I already have two lame ideas.

I was actually serious. I didn't get what you were looking for. So you're saying you want a blue, black, and silver blade?

That's not actually that hard, or expensive, to do. Strip your blade, if you haven't already. Get a largish battery from a battery store, some alligator clips, cotton balls, and salt water. Get some spray paint (and more paint stripper). Spray paint the blade. Scratch off the parts you want black and etched in. Soak the cotton ball in salt water, connect to alligator clip, and alligator clip to battery (negative/black). Positive (red) from battery to metal. Apply cotton ball for several seconds to etch the metal away.

Strip the paint off once done. Use a q-tip and gun blue to cold blue the parts you want blue. Hey presto, all done.

Your right, that stuff isn't hard or expensive. Though I would go with a "grapefruit patina". ( cost wise ). But being a largely left brained person. I lack the creative ideas that I like. Thus where I mainly lack the means. If i cant make a Mona Lisa, i'm unhappy with it. I do how ever have two ideas. One is a camo pattern of the three colors. And the other is a scenic background like a tusba.

hate to double post but I realized 556 Ruder was modded by mrn8. but like I said this thread might not go anywhere for a while.

Triple color scheme has been done, not that exact color scheme but the triple color has been done. Case in point:
