I have been wanting one of these for some time now. In fact, there is no doubt in my mind I made a bit of a pest of myself with Yangdu and for that I am truly sorry. I would ask when I noticed a new shipment had come in if a Trisul had happened to show up each time. Each time I was told, not this time but soon. I was pretty excited when she emailed me and told me she had a Horn Handled Trisul for me and asked me if I wanted it. Do I want it?!?! Of course I want it!
It is also rare for me to have a single blade sent to me, I usually have them pile up for a bit to save a few pennies on shipping but this time I just asked for a total because I wanted it NOW!
Anyway, here it is, I do have another on order with a Neem handle as well but for now feast your eyes on this one!
I will tell you the balance on this one is perfect, Santosh did a great job on it. Unless this has been on a shelf at BirGorka and forgotten for a while, then it is a Sher since we are now finding newer blades with the hash mark on them. I know it is new to Yangdu so it is just shipped into the country from Nepal which leads me to believe it to be a Santosh. For those wondering about the name, there is a peak in Himalayas named Trisul. (follow the link to the Wikipedia for more info) The shape of the blade with its three peaks therefore refers to that peak. They also make for a nice fighting blade with the blade trapping guard. If the handle wasn't horn, I would see how well it performed as a throwing knife but I am not all that good at it yet and I would hate to shatter the handle.
