I have been wanting one of these for some time now. In fact, there is no doubt in my mind I made a bit of a pest of myself with Yangdu and for that I am truly sorry. I would ask when I noticed a new shipment had come in if a Trisul had happened to show up each time. Each time I was told, not this time but soon. I was pretty excited when she emailed me and told me she had a Horn Handled Trisul for me and asked me if I wanted it. Do I want it?!?! Of course I want it! :D It is also rare for me to have a single blade sent to me, I usually have them pile up for a bit to save a few pennies on shipping but this time I just asked for a total because I wanted it NOW!

Anyway, here it is, I do have another on order with a Neem handle as well but for now feast your eyes on this one!

Nice red leather sheath

I will tell you the balance on this one is perfect, Santosh did a great job on it. Unless this has been on a shelf at BirGorka and forgotten for a while, then it is a Sher since we are now finding newer blades with the hash mark on them. I know it is new to Yangdu so it is just shipped into the country from Nepal which leads me to believe it to be a Santosh. For those wondering about the name, there is a peak in Himalayas named Trisul. (follow the link to the Wikipedia for more info) The shape of the blade with its three peaks therefore refers to that peak. They also make for a nice fighting blade with the blade trapping guard. If the handle wasn't horn, I would see how well it performed as a throwing knife but I am not all that good at it yet and I would hate to shatter the handle. ;)

Dang it warty. Every time I think I've seen it all you come up with something new that I'm going to have trouble living without. My recently sharked Cherokee Rose hasn't even arrived yet and you're already introducing me to a new .... blade. :D

Congrats! That's a beauty!

I've long been a fan of both khuks and bowies, so the HI Cherokee Rose is sort of a personal double whammy. It's great to see so many new blade patterns being produced.

Very nice blade and sheath warty, like the red leather, what are you going to use it for?

Them Nepalese wear really high boots :)

That knife is so nice, would have preferred a simple two piece leather sheath, but the length and the profile looks deadly :)

that's a good 'un for sure. i prefer the longer skinny bowie profile like that to the cherokee rose. all it needs is the false edge of the clipped point to be sharpened. that one is big enough to qualify for that scabbard in lieu of a simple sheath...

Another fan of the 14" Trisul:D

They make them in 18" as well, but really at 14" it's perfectly balanced and can actually tuck into some taller boots.

I have one that I "Ramboed up". I was never a fan of the flared butt of the knife, so I popped off the horn scales, too a dremel and a grinder to it and "westernized" the handle a bit. Then I decided to give it cold blue to protect the steel, and I wrapped the handle in nylon leather stitching thread.

It made for a very slim and sharp fighter:thumbup:

I think it's Warty that has the big boots, I certainly would not want to wear'em
:D
It reminds me of an "Arkansas Toothpick" but with more panache ;)

Honestly, I never wear boots anymore. Since I sold my last Harley, my feet have been mostly bare or in sandals.
Winter time I wear high tops most of the time or I have some warm moccasins I wear a lot too.
So as a boot knife, this isn't going to see much use but it will be carried as a knife for SD you can count on that...
I have already gotten it razor sharp and all I need now is the right sheath for it and I'll be set.

I like this one a lot and while they do make the longer one, I really like the balance this one has and think it is the perfect knife as is.

Nice with Warty! That is a wicked knife... is it more blade heavy, nimble, or balanced at the guard?

I'm glad you finally scored one of these Warty, I know you've been wanting one for awhile ;)

I said it is a nicely balanced knife. ;)

I don't know how they all are but Santosh out did himself on this one, it is perfectly nimble, just in front of the guard which for me is right where I like it to be.
This is a fast blade for close in work and in the right hands would be a fearsome killer.

Thanks Big W, you're right. I think the moment I found HI, I started bugging Auntie for one of these things.
I really, really appreciate that she had one made for me even when she told me she wasn't taking special orders at the time.
It was totally unexpected when she told me one was ready for me.

Thank you again Yangdu!
