Just got my Mili spacer back from Ron.Looks like a factory job.If you haven't had this done it is worth it.One word though,if you remove it your self the screws are in with locktight, the best way I found to get them out is to get the right size torx and a wrench to fit the bit and apply strong downward preasure and slightly tighten it to break the locktight before removeing the screw. Then when putting them back in you need two torx bits, one on each side to tighten them.if you try to tighten them from one side the piece they screw into turns and they will not tighten, took me a few minites to figure out why they wouldn't tighten up.
Big thank you Ron.

aaron: SC_Rebel957 did both mine and jeff's.
Mine ran me:
Swisstech Utilikey
Green glowring
(glowring #2 is going out at month end)

total about 35usd and shipping to him.

I have been trying to get some ti stock and send Ron some to make them fron it.

Not quite following...you got a spacer made out of tritium? The radioactive, glowing gas?

Pardon my ignorance.

Pic anyone? This could be a very cool mod.

Titanium backspacer with tritium inserts... or did I misunderstand the whole thing?

/Colinz

as soon as I find the pic on my site, I'll post it here

edit: ron just milled a pocket through the middle of the factory spacer, scale to scale, and drilled 5 holes down, to view the tritium vial. mine was the lab rat... had to get a new spacer from factory after the first one collapsed. also lost a glowring to knowledge.

here's ron's pics, I'm looking for my pic.

Yep,thats it.I have been trying to get some really good low light shots but my dig camera just ain't doing it.I would love to have a spacer done like this made out of ti.

Thanks for the pic.

I think a Ti could be made by a couple of people. If you´re interested in who e-mail me and I´ll send you one or two leads (no promises).

Glad yall like em. 1 word for the people trying to make them outta Ti, you HAVE! to use the factory screw inserts and lining up the holes is a bitch.
I'm working on a new try in my spare time. Thanks, Ron
Oh and btw these other makers? reckon theyd do it for 25.00? if so I'll send em some of my work

hey ron, got 2 green, 1 yellow and 1 orange of the regulars... what color do you want for the 2nd one?

Never mentioned a price. I saw some backspacers (Ti or SS) for EKI Commanders. If my memory serves me right they go for about $60-$70. Then again those had 20LPI or 30LPI nonslip patterns.

BTW are you pi$$ed at me for something sc_rebel1957?

I was just trying to be helpful.

Patrick, how about the orange buddy, I like that color.

Colinz of course not pal! I just meant I try to do it as cheap as possible for the forum members :) but that price wouldn't include milling a slot in the spacer and drilling 6 holes in the top I'm sure, it's not hard work but precise and time consuming.

I'm curently doing some alum 1s but IMO Ti would be easier to work because of the heat factor.

Damn T-6 aluminuim holds heat like you wouldn't believe and is a real pain. thanks, Ron

So what did you have Ron do? He took your spacer, drilled it and... what?

Put in some sort of glowing thing?

Why would you/we want to do that?

Seriously- what am I missing?

Thanks

It would be a big help if you was to drop your knife in the dark or layed it down in low light conditions to help find it.The original Military design had the tritium tube in the back spacer but production problems on installing it forced it to be left out.

Yes I see. Sometimes I forget that some people depend on thier blades in a way much more personal than I.

Thanks- I get it now.

Cheers!
