What do these two knives have in common?

Well one looks like a Marine Raider stiletto, a zinc-alloy handled version modeled after the Fairbairn Sykes knife, modeled after the Shanghai Fighting knife... It was designed as a "Killing knife" and was never used as a utility blade due to the brittle nature of the steel used in both the blade and handle. The Marine Raider Stiletto is very rare since most examples have had the cast-handles literally corrode apart over time, yours looks like it is in great shape.

The KABAR BK10 is rare because only 150 exist....otherwise, a complete opposite knife in design and function.

I give up.

Yes my Marine Raider is in great condition there are no cracks in the zink handle and the blade is razor sharp the etching has worn a bit though. You are well informed on the blade except one thing....think about it.

They're both made from cut and stamped blanks, and then machined to the proper angles, rather than being drop-forged? They're both sharp and pointy and cut things? hahah I really give up. I hope someone else can chime in, I'm stumped.

Aha, I was not aware that Camillus also produced the Marine Raider Stilettos. That's gotta be it right? hahahah.

they're both on a blue blanket ;)

while they BK10 might have been a Camillus blank, KaBar made it their own. any Camillus lineage kinda stopped there, imho :)
