I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out the progression of the Trizact belts. The grit rating is super hard to get right.

If someone could please tell me what each belt type or number on the back of the belt equates to in grit, it would sure go a long ways for me.

Thanks!

Yes. The Google. Kinda lacks that human interaction and knowledge thigh doesn't it. Isn't that why we're on the forums?

You asked what the equivalent grits are. Not a question that requires interaction. I don't want to come off like a jerk, but isn't that just being lazy? If you want to know what individuals use as their progression( as some have replied) that may require posting.

I think the OP's original post was fine. Not every source has the correct info. I guess I feel that if you don't want to answer the question you should just skip over it.

Perhaps I'm being grumpy, but I'd rather teach a man to fish.

I will agree with you, yes you are being grumpy. We can all use Google, but asking questions can cause discussion. Asking about the progression of these belts may trigger someone to share a trick they've found while using these belts. Discussion forums, that's the point of them. You just recently asked how to polish a hamon and there are tutorials everywhere showing different ways. No one told you to Google it.

I had to write the conversion on my bench with a sharpie when I started using gators, it worked for me.

Yes. But my point is there is only one grit conversion for trizact belts. There are many ways to polish a hamon. It's like making a post asking what 5+7 equals.

Then again I drove four fours with my kids arguing in the back seat yesterday, so I may just be out of sorts.

i keep it simple grind with 60grit and maybe clean up at 120 grit but then go from A300 right down to A65 and scottsbrite belt for belt finished knives. dead nuts simple belt finish
