Trm ti scales mod

Im not a fan of how shiny the Trm ti scales are.
Id like to darken the lizard skin ti scales. Do any of you have any experience darkening titanium?

Electrochemical anodization is probably what you want to do on full scales.

I’ve taken a torch (heat anodized) to pocket clip and it turned out alright. FeCl dip as well.

I wonder if a soak in vinegar would dull them.

I've used Oxiclean on a couple with not so much of an anodizing effect but more like a darkened patina.
Kind of like antiquing if that makes sense.

I've done the same. It does darken a bit, and at least on the one I tried, it did dull it a little bit.

Scotchbright pads could work as well, for dulling the shine. I would start with very fine and go up until you reach a point you like. Of course, this is a permanent change.
