How many of you caught a trojan horse named PSW.generic6.AQPD on their machine this morning? AVG found it but couldn't quaranteen it. Meanwhile microsoft sent some updates and wanted to restart this PC.

I gave in to the restart after Vista kept prompting me, but before I restarted I also downloaded Spyware doctor and it also found this trojan.

It seems to have originated from flash player.

Once this PC dies I am going to get a Mac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bufford, here's a link to a discussion on this problem. You might want to keep an eye on this page.

Just an FYI, but Microsoft sends out updates monthly, on the second Tuesday of each month. However, it they find something that is considered urgent, they will send out updates as needed. But you can count on regularly scheduled updates on the second Tuesday of every month.

Correct again Cougar. I just checked my Kaspersky reports, and it showed up.

But KAS doesn't recommend adding anything to do with Java or Adobe to the exclusion list.

I ran Avg and Spyware doctor scans and they seem to have and I use the word 'seem' loosely here caught the bug. I am going to use Avant Browser again as an added layer of security.

Microsoft did send some updates yesterday at about the same time as the problem emerged.

I don't have any faith in Microsoft any more, their security is so full of holes that one could drive a truck through it. I find that I spend more time tinkering and scanning than I do using this thing.
