Guys, please step back a bit and look what is happening.

1. A guy tries to do a good thing, sharing his experience with flossing his GB.

2. A troll, or trolls, uses it to do what trolls do.

3. Good, common sense Strider guys get mad at troll(s). Troll(s) win.

4. Good, common sense Strider guys get mad at each other. Troll(s) win.

Guys, please let this go. Don't lower yourselves to the level of trolls. I know it's hard. It reminds me of my last divorce. I had to walk away from that evil woman. Any words with her caused ME more harm than good. It's the same way with trolls.

Well said...

It comes to this…
If the person has no ulterior motives, they just don’t buy a knife.

Look at all the energy spent.

Simple loser.

I enjoy arguing with trolls, but I guess this isn't the right place. The way I figure it is that if I have to go to the head, might as well turn it into a friendly pissing match. I'm a guest here, so my bad on that last one.

I don't take an ego hit if I'm 'fooled' into thinking the person isn't a troll; IMO it's always better to err on the side of being friendly at first. Sometimes people don't realize that what they are saying can be taken as a slam.

What is a bummer is when true contributing members quarrel. I'm glad to see that when someone makes a mistake they come clean.

I wonder if the IP addresses of apparent abusers are monitored.

I agree with Lynn. Of course, I have to correct him most of the time. That's not trolling; with him it's more of a safety issue! ("No, no, Lynn, grab the G-10 end! The pointy end is sharp!!")

Having said that, I do like a good debate, and we should be free to do so without ripping each other.

I remember a quote from Jeff Cooper back when he ran Gunsite Raven. He said that anyone could walk around armed, and that any man could freely speak his mind without fear of ridicule. I wish I lived in that type of world.

One more way you can use dental floss... :)

(oh no, not again. Now the dumba$$ is starting something new... )

SILENCIO!!!

Sew on the buttons on your jacket, trousers etc. with it. Keeps the buttons on forever.

Yes, I know, soon we´ll have another troll that says that the trousers of this brand or the jacket of that brand isn´t worth **** because you have to take care of it.

I think I´ll start a list of 101 ways of using dental floss :p

/Colinz :(

Colinz, I want to thank you for your thread about flossing your GB. It's too bad that a troll, or trolls, perverted the thread. Keep on coming up with ideas. Positive, forward movement drives people like that crazy.

Ichabod Poser, LOL......
Colinz, I used a cheap drud store dental tool, and plain floss to clean the pivot of my GB, and it worked great. First I used break cleaner, then the floss, and finally the little pick hook to remove the stuff that fell out. My GB is smooth and lock up is still as tight. Great advise. I wish your post had not been jumped on by a troll. It was great advise, and I'm still trying to find out what spanner wrench size I need. I sort of think I remember someone saying 3/8 a long time ago, but I'm not sure. Thanks again for the advise, Reagan

SWEET!
I have always used floss for my field clothes buttons.
Learned that one in RIP.

Talk to you soon
