i have a buck knife, have had it for over 20 years....found it actually, didn't buy it. My friends and I were walking some trails in San Diego years ago and that's where I found this knife.
It's a Buck 110 and the blade is engraved. There is a banner that says 001 of 500 and there's two does and a buck deer jumping over a tree on the ground and there's mountains in the background.
I went to a knife guy some years ago and he told me it wasn't anything special and probably something custom, not even from Buck.
what i want to know is if anyone has ever seen a knife like this or knows anything about a knife like this or knows where i can research it. I've tried the internet but can't find anything or anywhere to get info.
any help would be appreciated.
i have a couple of real crappy pics taken with my phone but i don't know how to post them on here.
thanks

And......just before the mountains there's an oak tree with a red squirrel eating a acorn.

:D

You're gonna have to borrow a camera.

;)

on the tang is stamped "BUCK **110** USA"
more detail...well lets see, there's two does stand there next to some branches/bushes whatever on the ground that the male buck is jumping over. there's a banner than states " TROPHY BUCK 001 of 500" at the end of the blade. in the background there's a mountain and some trees. engraving looks dark so it may have been black or acid etched way back in the day but it's faded now.

Without the aid of a quality photo...here is what my guess is.

1986 issue called "Trophy Buck"(whitetail), 500 issued, MSRP in 86 was $125, this issue was a gold etch....so the gold may have warn off or maybe yours did not get the gold plating? Depending on the knife's condition it worth $50-80.

Well done, JB.

I was just thinking that nobody was gonna figure this one out, but it sounds like you probably managed even without a pic.

How do you do it? Do you have archives of data?

I think JB is talking about this one, maybe.

Hey......you got the first one?

(001?)

Unfortunately no... That just means it is one out of 500 made. This one is actually #174/500

That is misleading, got me the first time too.

These Gold Etched blades were done by Aurum who has been out of business a long time.

Better jump on JB's for the guesstimate he made. I wouldn't let go of this one for anywhere near that. Unless he was meaning in used condition.

These came with a neat wood display stand, no sheath and a fancy box in a sleeve, along with a certificate of authenticity.

This one came with the blade open, and it has never been folded.

That is the one Ratty. The price I quoted is due to the economic down turn...a lot of the gold etch knives are selling on ebay for lower than they should be. Also, this one was said to have been found on a trail...so it's is not NIB and the gold is not on the blade any longer!

It is almost sad that someone made a user out of one of those..

Yeah, this economy sure needs to turn around. At least some of the guns I have sold lately have held up.

Funny.......these things show up here.

Then.......they navigate the bay.

"2 gold etched deers 1 buck"

:D

No........your pics would be better.

These look more like cell phone pictures.

:D

It think we have proven that people watch these threads and when something gets "hot" they magically show up in the forsale places. Has happened time and time again.

Maybe I should have put this one up before I started talking about it..

Yep,

But, the market will decide what it's worth in the end;). Note this link is to a completed auction of one of the deer type gold etch 110's.
