Hi!
I just started on A8mod 8,5Cr (stock removal) and I'm having some trouble getting a good result with my makers mark when I'm cold stamping. Would it be stupid of me to heat the steel to e.g. 1200°F (650°C), and then do a hot stamping?
I stamp during normalizing of 1095 or 80CRV2, but as I understand it (A8mod) don't need any normalizing (according to the internet) and I can't find any recepies on normalizing either.
I also don't have Cryo/dry ice. Would it make any difference if I put it in the freezer after plate quench? I don't have a deep freezer, only about 3' @-18C.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
