I am having trouble sharpening my rc-6 with my sharpmaker. It looked like I wasnt hitting the edge with the 20degree per side, so I did the sharpie trick to confirm it. I thought all esee knives came factory with 20degree per side grinds?

Also a little off topic question: Is it ok to still call them rc-6, rc-3 etc?

Working off the powdercoat is a bear with ceramic rods. I knock mine back some with diamond stones, then the sharpmaker makes fast work of the 1095

i like to call my 4 "esee-4" and the 3 "rc-3", etc. depending if it has the old or new logo. i know it's splitting hair but it's part of my ocd, i guess.

i just use a 1 dollar stone i bought at a hardware store (has two sides, medium and fine) and then i use a 1000 grit dryandwet sandpaper... and i have a leather belt i strop it at the end with... i need to buy some compound for it...

i just call mine RC6 and RC3 :D :D :D

I think Jeff always says that they are all hand sharpened so there can be a slight derivation from 20°. What Dizwolf said should do the trick

The first try with my izula on the sharpmaker didnt yield impressive results either. Second try was better. It seems indeed that the edge is a slightly of due to hand sharpening. It shaves now, ah well it did. Dont have much hair left on my forearms since the sharpmaker came :)

I know i sometimes accidentely make the angle slightly towards the other stone, increasing the angle. Yesterday, I was going nuts not being able to get i sharp again due to that error.
