Trouble with FedEx

Recently ordered an Arc Light AAA. FedEx says it delivered it on Nov 10 at 12.55pm. My wife and I were home all afternoon- no package ever showed up. Arc Light says tough s***, since I waived a signiture, I have to deal with FedEx. FedEx says it remembers the address but can't recall the package! This is the second time FedEx screwed me out of a delivery, but at least the previous merchant gave me my money back. So I am out $30.00 and some FedEx driver probably has a new flashlight:(
Lesson learned- always verify a delivery with a signature!!

I doubt that a FedEx driver would risk his job over a $30 flashlight.

It could have been delivered to the wrong address. Did you check all around your house? Sometimes they stick them in dumb places.

"Brown" once delivered a knife to a house one block over. It had the same house number, however. When it showed up on the tracking as delivered and wasn't here, I took my dog for a walk and found it. I rang the doorbell and told the folks. It wouldn't look good to be taking stuff off peoples front porches, even if it is yours.

Yeah, I checked all around...in bushes, under trees, etc. The thing is, it was a small package- could have been left in the mail box- actually was supposed to be delivered by FedEx mail!
I also don't appreciate Arc Light's attitude in this. I asked them for a credit, but no reply so far.:(

I once had FedEx deliver an axe to me, and it never came. After a week or so of going back and forth with FedEx and Starfire and even filing a police report, the driver finally "remembered" that he had left my package at my neighbor's house, right across the cul-de-sac. Of course my dumbass neighbor never said anything. I ended up getting the package a week and a half late, through FedEx's (and my dumbfuck neighbor's) fault. :(

Gollnick,

Just because YOU would not risk a good job for free goddies that need no signature ( and thus a low risk level) does not mean that others would not.

About signature Packages: I have seen UPS leave my packages at my door even without signature once in a while....But the Sig. does cover your goods if they are misplaced/Stolen.

Let's hope that others reading this thread will learn from our mistakes and always get "sign for" delivery.

Just an update- I talked to Pete and his wife Merri at Arc Light about this problem. Pete was a true gentleman and said he will go to the U.S. Post Office and mail me a new flashlight. He offered to credit my charge card but I told him I really wanted a AAA light. He said he will not have much luck trying to get money from FedEx but I filed a claim with FedEx and if I get rembursed, I will send the money to him. Good company!!!:) He said they have lost thousands of dollars in supplies and equipment over the years with both UPS and FedEx!!!

If it's happened twice, and the FedEx driver says he remembers delivering the package, then the theory of delivery to a similar address is a very good one. Maybe your FedEx driver is confused about your address. Maybe he thinks he's delivering to 123 S. Pine Street when, in fact, he's delivering to 123 N. Pine Street, or something like that.

Cool your jets, big T.

I didn't say it was impossible, just unlikely. Sometimes, unlikely things do happen.

But, before you run off assuming that the FedEx driver is a dishonest crook and accusing him of theft when you have no evidence, you might want consider other possibilities.

About "Signature required"...

In another UPS misadventure, they once left 500 rounds of .223 on my front porch in plain view of everybody. Signature was required, but we weren't home, so they just left it out!

On the plus side, they've been great in the past year or so.

I just moved to a rural area and have only been here for about two weeks. So far I have had TWO UPS packages that were do and never showed. Tonight was the second one. The lady called me saying the driver declared there is no such person or address. Funny, b/c thats what the first driver said for another package. What tops it off is when I went to give her directions for the driver, she quoted the directions I gave the first time. With EXACT mileage and road names.

Then they want me to come pick it up in a town about 20 miles from my home. I paid for the damn delivery service, as far as I am concerned, since it was the drivers fault, he should have to come TONIGHT to deliver the package:grumpy:

Sorry for the side trip, but I have to get it off my chest

I was at home on Friday when my dog started barking. I looked out a window and sure enough a Fedex van was in the driveway. Before I could get to the door he dropped a package and left. He never even bothered to ring the doorbell. There were two cars in the driveway so he knew someone was home. He just didn't want to take the time to talk to me.

Normally what happens is that the delivery guy drops something a block away on a similarly named street. I live on a "Drive" and they deliver it to a "Place".

Got my package tonight!!! A lady called from two streets over. My address is 145 Hillendale Rd., hers is 145 Link Ave.??!!?? Not even close...but the numbers are almost the same:confused: (in case there are any FedEx drivers reading this ;) ) She found my phone # and called...she had been out of town until today and it laid on her front porch since the 10th.
Any way, great little flashlight- super company, also. I called FedEx and Arc Light and got everything squared away.
Tomorrow, I am expecting delivery of an AlMar SERE 2000 and a new Emerson Commander! Both are comming UPS (I think?) so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Oh good.

Call Fed Ex and ask them to remind the driver to be more careful about street names.

This is why I always get stuff delivered to the office. There is always someone there to sign, and they can not leave anything without meeting someone.
