I just received my first becker product in the form of a bk14. It is a very well designed knife and I like all the features that it offers ( besides the sheath which is soon to be replaced with fresh kydex) however it has a slight bend to the blade like I have scene others state in threads but besides that it has absolutely no factory edge. Has anyone else had this problem with this knife? Love the knife just looking for some words of wisdom and some hope and this seams to be the place to get it.

As I am just learning how to properly sharpen my knifes any help is greatly appreciated.

call kabar and get it exchanged. Unless you bought through amazon like the other thread, then id say call amazon and have them next day you a new one (thats their policy). seems like a bad batch got through. sorry to hear that man.

Here is a pic of the blade. I was able to touch up the blade to good degree so as long as this will not affect the performance of the blade it does not bother me a ton. Do you think it is worth the hassle of shipping it back?
I am going on a day hike tomorrow and was lookig forward to testing this blade so it would put a damper on things.

Just a matter of how bad it bothers you. I can tell you it won't affect the performance of the blade one bit. I've got some pretty expensive blades that aren't dead straight.

That looks just like mine (from the other amazon thread). The replacement I got from amazon looks like this too. Still mulling over my options.....

Wow! it looks like you can slice around a corner with that blade. My BK2 is bent a bit but nothing like that. How does quality control let that slip by?

Yeah I was thinking this was pretty extreme. I could understand a little curve but this is pretty off I am going to contact biker and amazon I am thinking a direct replacement from biker might be best to avoid a situation lil JWL. Is this something that is characteristic of ka bar beckers?

There are others around here that are much more informed than me. But as I understand it this problem has been fixed. I know that in production of anything that things do go wrong. But that is where your quality control/assurance comes in. JMO as usual.
