So today me and my buddy went out for the opening day of trout season here in NY. The good old Spyderco Pacific Salt clipped in my pocket. Just before light we have our first bit of luck.

We kept on fishing for awhile and it started to snow we caught a few more under 20 inches but decided that we would only keep the three that where over 21 inches.

Then using my Pacific Salt went ahead and cleaned the fish to get them ready for the grill tomorrow when we get back from round two.

We havt eaten them yet have to wait for some of our buddies who are comming here to start the fish fry. Was just so impressed with the fish and the way the spyderco handled cleaning them that had to post haha

Nice catch! I'm planning on learning how to fish this year, myself. I'll be focusing on bass at first but I plan on going for trout as well.

It's been pretty chilly where I'm at. It must have been the same for you as well. Glad that your determination paid off.

I'm also happy to see that the Pacific Salt did so well with cleaning the fish. I have a Salt 1 that has a FFG. Should work well also.

grilled these up last night they where super good.

The Spyderco's performance this weekend was great carried light in the pocket which is always a plus when walking the streams. Cleaning the fish it did a great job to. The thumb ramp over the spyder hole made it alot easier to bear down on the knife to make it cut the spine on these fish. The H1 held an ok edge I had to just do a minor touch up on the blade to get it back to where i started but it wasnt necisary if i had to guess it would have handled another fish or two befor getting pretty dull. Overall realy impressed with this knifes performance and cannot recomend it enough to anyone who needs a good do all fishing knife that needs little maintence.
