Well, as some of you know my 1st knife really turned out just to be a prison shank. Small, thin, and not heat treated properly. This whole week I've just been itching to really start making my own knives. All I have is a 1x30 belt sander, bench grinder, and some steel. In this case it turned out to be 15N20. I got home today, and whithin 2 hours I ground this baby out. Made my own little forge to heat treat, using canola oil to quench, and then thempered at 375 for 1 hour and then vinegar soak. Convexed at 220 grit and is sharp as hell. Paper/ duck tape sheath WITH belt loop. Wrapped in etnies shoe lace. I'm so thrilled that everything worked out well, and I've definetly caught the bug. Well, here ya go.
