True American Song

Country music isn't my thing. But I've heard better sounds come out of my cat when I stepped on her tail.

The American music scene is pretty bleak. Too much cookie cutter country crap like this and whiney pop. I'll stick with my European metal, at least there's some lyrical substance and actual musical ability.

You can be patriotic all you want, but I question someone's patriotism when they use it to sell a record. I love my country, I support our president, I support our constitution and I like to shoot my guns, but I'm not waving a flag in everyone's face.

And, most importantly, I just plain don't like country music.

Sorry.

I was just showing a song I believe is patriotic. And you don't have to like country. He's about the only country guy I'll listen too. And what does that mean, waving a flag in everyones face? Didn't know there was a rule against being patriotic and proud of my country.

The truest of American songs was written by Woody Guthrie, a communist.

Pompous, sententious, and a lousy singer. Hard to make out a lot of the words he mumbled.

This is better.

The other Amendments are pretty cool, too :)

I enjoyed the song, thanks for sharing.

Woops. Didn't mean to offend you. Sorry.

I didn't intend that to be directed towards you, just the song. I am sorry.

Hey, it puts the "country" before the "music". :D

There was a skit on Codco where Greg Malone delivered the following quote:

"Music - the greatest of all the arts - must support munitions production quotas."

It isn't very often that I have to look up words but "sententious" was one I had not heard before. :) It means just about exactly what I expected and I concur. Parts of the song made me really want to like it but, all in all, I think it comes across as satirical at least as much as it does serious.

And how about some Lee Greenwood. I could do without the 80's synth. keyboards but this one must be a modern American classic.
