Was highly impressed by the degree of authenticity of the knives and other weaponry used in the new True Grit movie, though I couldn't identify the blades. Worth seeing!

the wife and i saw it a few nights ago and we loved it. i had seen a preview for the original and was unimpressed with the acting, but jeff bridges made me want to see the remake. his character rooster made the movie although the little girl who hires rooster did a really good job. i give it two thumbs up. my wife didnt like how they ended it, she thought they just kind of chopped it after the last action seen.

Both good movies, just different styles of acting, directing and writing with the original being made 40 plus years ago. I am an avid movie watcher and could not rate a movie just on a preview or trailer. Hard to beleive anyone that likes westerns has never seen the original.

My wife and I saw it last night. I even thought of posting on here about it. I've seen both now. The origional was made in a different era. The remake was made for this era.

We both loved it! And that's no small feet for my wife (she hates everything)
I wish the world would return to that time, when People had character, and guns were legal.
I loved the part where 14 year old Maddy walked into the court room with a military grade Colt.44 in her bag. Later while still in the court house, the gun was removed by a US marshal and then handed back to her after Maddy said she was going to use it to kill a man.
Today, they would have called in the diddly SWAT guys and she would have been lucky to live through it. Those were the days.

never mind. not nice.

I haven't seen it yet but have loved Jeff Bridges ever since the Big Lebowski.

Just saw it, and it was pretty good. Not something I'll buy and watch over and over, but worth seeing. Much grittier than the original;)
