My son and I hung this unsharpened paper label, True Temper Connecticut yesterday. The head had a partial label, and is stamped 3 1/2. We hung it on a House Handle 30" haft..

Hey now .... that's pretty swanky. Nice work on the handle there too, did you do something to age it a little?

Thanks.. and yes, I did discover accidentally a few years ago how to quickly add natural "age" to white Hickory. The process actually involves Hickory. That haft was snow white yesterday afternoon at 4pm, by 4:30 it had aged about 4 years..

A very nice Connecticut axe. Connie??? That sure is a strange name or slang for this axe. I only seen it named or called that this way on this site. I had never heard it called that before. Who knows, maybe the ones that use Connie just can't spell Connecticut?

No, No, Tom, you have it wrong, we can spell Connecticut alright, it's just what we named her. "True Temper Connie", or just plain Connie for short. You mean to tell me you don't name your axes?:)

I have have over 110 of them. I'd have trouble trying to remember 5 of them if I had too.

I have a 4 lb CT Con - nec - ti - cut (that second "c" don't be silent) head. I call him "Big Boy". :)

Nice job you and your son did with Connie.

3 -3.5 lb Connie is a great working axe, you can do whatever you want with it, all day long. Great find.
