I picked up this Connecticut pattern True Temper on the 'bay for a song. Finally put a 32" ash handle on it yesterday. Not my best hang ever (thus the grady wedges) but I think it came out pretty good. I'll put this one to work next spring on trailwork so we'll see how it holds up. I need to finish honing the edge but happy that I have one less unhung axe.

Axe (as I bought it) is on the right:

I like it. I need a Connecticut pattern as I don't have any. Besides they look great!

Since the other axe is picture in the first (before) picture, I figured I'd show that finished as well. I used a 32" octagonal handle on it. Still working on trimming the handle down a bit.

It's a R.King Tool Steel (early Collins).

Those are awesome. Definitely need that pattern. Nice job.

I like that octagon handle a lot. Where'd you pick that up??

Thanks. billyjbluegrass on the 'bay. Not always listed like the Hickory Handle store but they do pop up. They are thick though (for my liking)

I think I'll spoke shave my next SB handle into an octagon. I always like to thin them down anyway. Thanks, cooperhill!!
