I found this True Temper Flint Edge Kelly Works double bit axe head, can some one give a date range and a approximate value of it? It measures about 10" from bit to bit, weights about 3.5lbs and is in pretty good condition, no cracks or pitting. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it has 4 of the eye ridges, thanks.

School me. What are "eye ridges"? As I have a similarly marked single edge that was recently re-hafted and "tuned"by Heath Creek Forge.

eye ridges refer to the vertical lines inside the eye, in theory theyre supposed to hold the head on there and stop wiggling, but im not sure if they work. they dont hurt anything though and theyre still good heads, probably the last such made in the golden age of american axes
