Snagged this one as a 'buy it now' for $20. Looks to be unused with just some surface rust. Cleaned it up with some light steel wool. Not sure what to do about the paint. There's not much of it on the back side. I want to leave the label intact. Thoughts? I usually clean these up but not sure on this one.

This isn't my go-to type of axe but this uns a keeper.

like you said if you don't really need it for chores , leave it for looking

Man, you've had quite the lucky streak lately, Coop!

That's a fine little axe. I'd leave the paint as-is and hang it.

If you give it a chance it just might become your go-to axe. I broke out my boy's axe at work today and let a co-worker use it. He immediately started thinking and talking about getting an axe like mine.

Thanks Peg. Appreciate the feedback. I may see how it does around the yard for light felling & splitting duties. It has a real narrow profile.

I prefer big axes for trailwork, though, always have, always will.

Nice find. I would clean that particular one up and see how she does. Good score. Now go collect something else like screwdrivers or something.

You lucky dog ;)
That's a helluva find! I'd probably haft it at least, then see how she feels and go from there.
